The Traditional
Anglers of Pennsylvania is dedicated to live bait fishing and equal access for all.
We will continue to promote, protect, and preserve all waterways of Pennsylvania. |
|
Since December
1996, the following has taken place:
 |
T.A.P. is now registered as an official
organization in the State of Pennsylvania. |
 |
The annual smoker was held for the
Forest-Hills co-op and was a huge success; T.A.P. gives a big thanks to all who helped
out. |
 |
A representative from T.A.P. attended
numerous Wild Trout meetings throughout the year so that the bait fisherman could express
their points-of-view to the PA Fish & Boat Commission. |
 |
T.A.P. actively endorses membership in
the PA League of Angling Youth (PLAY) through the PA Fish and Boat Commission.
Eighteen youth, ages 12 and under, have already joined PLAY through T.A.P.'s involvement. |
 |
The annual T.A.P. fishing derby was once
again a successful event, enjoyed by kids 12 and under. Approximately 300 youth
angled to catch more than 700 brown, rainbow, brook, and palomino trout that were stocked
by T.A.P. members. A new addition to the derby was a chicken barbecue. The
barbecue was a sell-out, and will be included in this year's derby. |
 |
T.A.P. now has a computer which was
donated by a local business. |
 |
The annual Portage Summerfest was held
the second weekend in August. T.A.P. entered a float in the parade, and hosted a
casting demonstration to teach casting techniques to youth ages 16 and younger. |
 |
Youth Field Day was a huge success for
young kids. The Portage Coalition of Sportsmen, of which T.A.P. is an active member,
sponsored the event which was held at the Portage Pistol and Revolver club. |
 |
T.A.P. received a letter from Governor
Tom Ridge acknowledging T.A.P.'s letter of endorsement for the reappointment of PA Fish
Commissioner Don Anderson for a new eight-year term. |
 |
We continue to seek the
support and co-operation of other outdoor sportsmen and environmental organizations and
interested individuals. Information regarding donations, contributions, and T.A.P.
memberships (Adult$5.00 annual, Junior $2.50 annual) and other information about T.A.P.
can be obtained by contacting:
